New Project at Thornlea University of Exeter!

Recently we have secured a new project at Thornlea, University of Exeter. This project involves refurbishing seven rooms across the art building, so the staff and students can enjoy a new friendly and modern environment during the new semester.
Mark, our Site Manager said, "I always enjoy working at the University, it's a nice place to work and has a friendly and helpful team. The goal (as always) is to deliver a completed project to a repeat client on time, to a high standard and try and cause as little disruption to day-to-day workings of the university as possible."

The Project Scope

The project at the University of Exeter Thornlea comprises the refurbishment and remodelling of the Creative Industries at the Alexander and White House Buildings which form part of the Streatham Campus. These buildings accommodate the communications, drama and film departments.
The scope of the project is to modernise and improve specified areas within both buildings to accommodate the requirements of the individuals undertaking a Creative Industry course.
The works include the remodelling of external items including the existing roof light to improve ventilation, the creation of a new unisex and Doc M disabled toilet facilities, forming weather tight penetrations through the existing flat roof, conversion of the existing costume store into a digital experiences laboratory, sash window refurbishments and extensive M&E works and builders works in connection within both buildings.
Sustainability
The project is being completed in accordance with the SKA Higher Education Assessment Manual which implements extensive measures designed to enhance project sustainability performance across all construction stages. This is being achieved through the combined effort of the client, design team and Fifields as Principal Contractor with the support of our approved suppliers for this project.
