University of Exeter - AV Works
During Summer 2025, Fifields Construction were appointed to refurbish fifty rooms across the Streatham and St Luke's campuses.
The project entailed:
-Upgrading the audio/visual learning equipment.
-Removing various room walls to create larger, more versatile learning spaces.
-Refurbishing rooms with additional electrics, new floor coverings, window blinds, and decorations.
-Addition of new ventilation plant where required.
This has been the 5th year in which we have worked alongside the University of Exeter, and we must say that it's always a pleasure to work with all staff.
Honiton Hospital
Fifields Construction worked alongside Minerva roofing during the Honiton Hospital re-roofing project.
The project took place across a year for our valued client the NHS in Honiton.
Project Details:
-The complete re-roofing of the hospital building.
-New pitched roof insulation upgrade to form new warm roofs throughout.
-The project was completed within a live environment.
-A new dormer roof structure was also added to the rear elevation to improve access to the roof space to aid the NHS's ongoing maintenance.
Through the efforts of our site team and the close co-ordination of all those involved, we were able to deliver this extensive project in a safe and effective manner, delivering a high quality finish.

Barton Surgery
From 2016 to 2017 Fifields Construction delivered a project comprising the construction of a four-storey extension to the existing doctors surgery at the Barton Surgery, Dawlish.
The works included the creation of nine new consulting rooms, a doctor’s room and disabled WC’s on the ground and lower ground floors. Also included was the formation of a new Lloyds Pharmacy on the first floor, with a staff area and glazed conference room on the second floor.
Externally, the construction was made up of blockwork and coloured pro-rend, with the higher level constructed of profile metal cladding with aluminium double-glazed windows.
Refurbishment works to the existing doctor’s rooms and consulting rooms were negotiated and carried out whilst the main contract works were in progress.
The contract was carried out whilst the existing surgery remained in operation at all times. Through careful planning, clear communication and effective workmanship, Fifields Construction were able to eliminate any disruption to the day to day operations of the practice, receiving maximum praise from the client at the end of the project.
Evergreen NHS
In 2025, Fifields Construction completed the Phase 1 and 2 refurbishment of Evergreen Matford Lodge in Exeter.
Owned and operated by the Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Matford Lodge and Larkby are two Georgian detached houses converted into consulting rooms and offices. An extension called ‘Evergreen’ has been constructed between Matford and Larkby, joining the two buildings.
The works undertaken by Fifields over two phases comprise the creation of various clinic rooms, the creation of an accessible WC, a new OT Clinic Space and a new assessment room.
Project Details:
-The removal of existing fixtures.
-Upgraded M&E services.
-Installation of suspended ceilings.
-New decorations.
The final finish has provided the building and it’s users with refreshed, renewed facilities completed to a high quality finish.
Well done to the entire site and project team for their hard work and dedication during this project.

Langdon Hospital
In July 2025, Fifields Construction secured a new refurbishment project at Langdon Hospital in Dawlish, Devon.
The project involved refurbishing Avon House at Langdon Hospital, converting it from hospital wards into offices and training facilities.
Internal works included:
-Removal of existing partitions, fixtures & fittings etc.
-The installation of new structural steel beams & new stud partitions.
-M&E services.
-Fire alarm systems.
-New suspended and MF ceilings.
-Hygienic wall cladding.
-Three new kitchens.
-Decorations.
The new fire-rated doorsets have been installed and signed off through our Firas membership.
External works included:
-The creation of a new external ramp with handrail.
-A cycle storage area.
-Improvements to the existing flat roof.
It was great working alongside Devon Partnership NHS Trust on another successful refurbishment project.
