Building a Greener Exeter, One Project at a Time
Grendon Almshouses Exeter
The charity Exeter Homes Trust required the existing rear 1970s extensions to be demolished and replaced with new energy-efficient extensions.
Fifields Construction undertook the demolition of the historic buildings, constructing new extensions with secondary glazing, soundproofing and modern central heating as well as modernised decorations and finishes.
The Exeter Homes Trust required the Grade II listed Almshouse buildings to be updated to be more suited to modern-day living. Fifields Construction undertook the upgrade and extension of the existing Almshouse buildings providing new energy-efficient apartments.
A sympathetic refurbishment and extension to a series of buildings with historic and cultural significance. This has provided larger insulated and well-heated properties to be enjoyed by the 150 residents.
