Reinstatement of a fire damaged listed cottage.
The project comprised the reinstatement of a fire damaged, listed thatched cob cottage which included the installation of new oak trusses.
The works included the demolition and stabilisation of the fire damaged areas and the construction of new external walls and 3no chimney stacks.
The main thatched roof structure was reconstructed completely by a specialist thatched roof contractor.
A new oak staircase and a new spiral staircase were installed as per the client’s specifications.
The fire damaged first floor structure and ceilings were reconstructed as per the architect’s design. New M&E services, render, new windows, doors, sanitaryware, fixings and accessories etc were also fitted.
All the materials were required consistent with the original design, both in quality and appearance.
